Citizen was founded in 1924, when the Institute of Research Shokosha, in Japan, was manufactured the first pocket watch. He was the mayor of Tokyo, the city is still home to the parent company Citizen Watch Co. Ltd., who christened this new Citizen watch, with the hope that this subject, at the time considered very luxurious and therefore reserved for the few, could one day be within the reach of all citizens.
